Duo Plegma - Dimitrios Karagiannakidis (cello) & Alexios Lizos (piano)
The collaboration of Dimitrios Karagiannakidis (GR) and Alexios Lizos (GR) started on 2011, as a result of a common need for an exchange of opinions on a shared musical quest. Their repertoire covers different eras, performing compositions from the classical period till the 21st century, presenting pieces of Greek composers at first performance. They constitute an "ensemble in residence" of the "Pelion Festival" since the summer of 2011. The duo name "Plegma" derives from the Greek word "πλέγμα" which describes a system of relations or actions which are intersecting and interdependent.
Temperamentum
Temperamentum is an ensemble of a varying number of pianists for two pianos, created by prof. Zoe Samsarelou in 2004. The steady core of the ensemble’s members is constituted by graduates of her piano class and its repertoire is focusing especially on pieces of Greek composers.
Since 2015, Alexios is the founder of the workshop "Pianoles Leuven" [PL]. The workshop is devoted to offer a connection to people of any musical level, age and interest. Its main teaching philosophy is to help students discover, appreciate and improve their musical abilities, reach their full potential and overcome possible musical and technical difficulties by establishing a safe teaching environment.
Alexios, alongside with his students, intents to form a piano practice methodology based on a neuropsychological perspective. Aim of the methodology is to provide to piano enthusiasts & professionals an effective and pleasant way of honing their musical skills and talent, while extending their musical insight, based on a better conscious knowledge of their musical brain function.
